Kuks a barokní kultura v Čechách

Abstract

V této práci se pokusíme nastínit a objasnit souvislosti kukského panství a jeho zakladatele, velikána českého barokního období, a to hned z několika důvodů. O pestré škále nejrůznějších okruhů umění, jež tryskala z mimořádné aktivity Františka Antonína hraběte Sporcka (1662-1738), bylo napsáno nespočet článků, statí, drobných i rozsáhlých knih a vydány řady průvodců či obrazových publikací, v nichž osoba a topos jeho panství hraje v rámci tvorby vrcholného baroka podle charakteru někde jen dílčí, jindy zase dominantní roli. Lze se domnívat, že ač přes všechnu svojí bohatost a různorodost literatury, týkající se tohoto tématu, jsou některé zdroje zastaralé a nebo je jejich řešení značně nesoustavné, zaměřující se až někdy přímočaře pouze na jedno odvětví už tak bohaté Sporckovy činnosti. Nelze říci, že by česká historiografie věnovala postavě Sporcka a jeho okolí málo zájmu, ale důkladného monografického zpracování se mu dostalo poměrně pozdě a to z iniciativy rakouského historika Heinricha Benedictai, který zpracoval rozsáhlý vídeňský materiál a využil Sporckovy korespondence v knihách konceptů, uložených v Praze. Na českém poli se o osvětlení sporckovské problematiky pokusil například Jaroslav Vlčekii ve studii o Sporckovi jako jansenistovi, snad nejvíce si obtíže uvědomil Fabián Slabýiii nebo Pavel...

The aim of this study is to outline and illustrate the link between the Kuksian manor and its founder, the great Czech baroque figure count Sporck and his Kuks, as a synthesis of events after the Thirty Year's War. I am convinced that this theme can be considered culturally-historical, as in the introductory chapter we are primarily going to cover the region's formation during the times of baroque Bohemia, the causes and mechanisms of its formation, subsequently we will describe the region's relationship to architecture, and finally we are going approach the spectacular grounds of Kuks itself. In the second part we will turn to count Sporck himself, particularly his background all the way towards his final establishment in Bohemia, where we are going to mention his notable credit to architecture and art, and eventually we will proceed to the issues of Bohemian settings of that time. Another big chapter will cover count Sporck's editorial activities, which were very ostentatious and presumptuous considering the fact that they took place during the difficult era full of censorships and prohibition. It can rightfully so be regarded as outstanding and, with only a few exceptions, unique in its own way.
