Motiv pohostinnosti ve starofrancouzských románech dvanáctého století

Abstract

Hlavním cílem práce je popsat motiv pohostinnosti a nastínit hlubší smysl rituálů, jež ho nezbytně provázejí. Výchozím bodem práce je motiv cesty, v tomto kontextu chápané nejen jako přemístění v čase a prostoru reálném, ale především jako snaha člověka dosáhnout pochopení světa. Proto zmiňuji romány Chrétiena de Troyes, např. Erec a Enida nebo Yvain, kde hlavní motivací putování hlavních hrdinů je napravení vlastního pochybení. Práce se zaměřuje od zastavení a ubytování u reálných hostitelů k hostitelům tajemným, protože si myslím, že setkání s tajemnem je jedna z možností, jak pochopit smysl života, a především pro starofrancouzské lais je odchod hrdiny za bytostí z jiného světa cíl celého vyprávění. Romány mají složitější strukturu a setkání s vílou, tedy bytostí z jiného světa není jejich hlavním zaměřením. Zpravidla je takové setkání jednou z mnohých zkoušek, které rytíř na své cestě podstoupí. Hlavním cílem románového putování je ale hrdinův návrat. Jen když se vrátí mezi své druhy a se svým dobrodružstvím je seznámí, má rytířova cesta smysl. Pro Chrétienovy hrdiny je důležitá, aby jejich dobrodružství vešla ve známost, mohla se dál mezi lidmi šířit. Jednotlivé kapitoly si všímají vztahů mezi hosty a hostiteli. This work aims at describing the motive of hospitality and to show the deeper sense of rituals, which come along with it. The starting point is the motive of the journey, understood in this context not on ly as a movement in real time and space but also as the endeavor of a man to understand the world. The Old French lais show voyage in the Other World as their only motive. The hero leaves the world of humans to follow his fairy mistress into her realm, often associated with the realm of the dead. The hero, being chosen by the fairy is thus elevated to immortality. The Old French romances offer a more complicated scheme. The voyage is understood as a sequence ofvarious adventures and tasks the hero has to accomplish. The motives of hospitality show a larger scale than in the lais. Besides hospitality offered by beings from the other world who test the heroes constancy and fidelity as well as other chivalric qualities. Hospitality offered by human hosts show s relations between different classes of society. We witness the fraternity of the knights as well as subordination of townspeople. This picture, however, does not show the reality of the medieval society but the dream of the nobility of how the society should function.
