Přátelství Terezie od Ježíše s Jeronýmem Graciánem na pozadí reformy karmelitánského řádu

Abstract

The rigorous work "The Friendship of Teresa of Jesus with Jerome Gratian Against the Background of the Reform of the Carmelite Order" first briefly outlines various perspectives on the importance of friendship and interpersonal relationships in the spiritual tradition (Chapter 1). It then presents Teresa's most important friendships and illustrates the type of internal development she went through in this area of life (Chapter 2). Her deepest relationship was her friendship with Father Jerome Gratian, the first Provincial of the Discalced Carmelites. It lasted the last eight years of her life (1575 - 1582). It had a naturally human dimension, but also a spiritual and practical one. Teresa and Gratian supported each other with spiritual advice, considered the reform of the Carmelite order together, and implemented that reform. The individual levels of friendship and their development are analysed year by year (Chapter 3). Teresa tried to pass on her experience of friendship with God and with people, in the form of a doctrine mainly to her "spiritual daughters," the Discalced Carmelites nuns (Chapter 4). Rigorózní práce "Přátelství Terezie od Ježíše s Jeronýmem Graciánem na pozadí reformy karmelitánského řádu" nejprve stručně nastiňuje různé náhledy na význam přátelství a mezilidských vztahů v duchovní tradici (1. kapitola). Následně představuje Tereziiny nejvýznamnější přátelské vztahy a ukazuje, jakým vnitřním vývojem v této oblasti života procházela (2. kapitola). Nejhlubším vztahem, který prožila, bylo přátelství s otcem Jeronýmem Graciánem, prvním provinciálem bosých karmelitánů. Trvalo posledních osm let jejího života (1575 - 1582). Mělo rozměr přirozeně lidský, ale i duchovní a praktický. Terezie s Graciánem si navzájem sloužili duchovními radami, společně uvažovali o reformě karmelitánského řádu a uváděli ji do praxe. Jednotlivé roviny přátelství a jejich vývoj jsou analyzovány rok po roce (3. kapitola). Svou zkušenost přátelství s Bohem i s lidmi se Terezie snažila předávat formou nauky především svým "duchovním dcerám", bosým karmelitkám (4. kapitola). Vedle přínosu k hlubšímu porozumění přirozenému a lidskému rozměru osobnosti Terezie od Ježíše a jeho začlenění do vztahu s Bohem, práce rovněž představuje možná vysvětlení některých zdánlivých protikladů mezi její životní praxí a naukou o přátelství a lásce k bližnímu.
