Dvě tváře jedné zahrady: Betonová zahrada a její zpracování

Abstract

Má práce si klade za cíl podrobit bližší analýze prvotinu britského autora Iana McEwana, Betonovou zahradu, a zmapovat vliv, který má na současnou kulturu. K tomu jsem zvolila její první zámořskou adaptaci na prknech Švandova divadla, jednoduše nazvanou Betonová zahrada. Analýzu jsem postavila na klíčových momentech, jejichž interpretace má zásadní vliv při adaptačním procesu. Jmenovitě se jedná o smrt otce, matky, její následné pohřbení, a vyvrcholení celého příběhu. Každý moment jsem podrobila detailnímu zkoumání a snažila se ukázat, jak jsou zobrazeny právě na divadelních prknech. K tomu jsem se zabývala problematikou dramatizace prozaického textu. V první části se zaměřuji na osobnost a život autora, Betonovou zahradu zasazuji do kontextu jeho díla a také do historického kontextu literatury, která se zabývá dětmi. Tento exkurz do minulosti je důležitý pro pochopení pozice, kterou román zastává na současné literární scéně, a také pro jeho bližší pochopení. Povrchově jsem zkoumala arcimotivy McEwanovy tvorby a naznačila, z jakých impulzů jeho prvotina vznikla. Samotnou interpretaci klíčových momentů jsem se snažila podložit citacemi postav a odborné literatury. Druhá část je věnovaná samotnému románu a již několikrát zmíněné analýze zásadních momentů. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze the first work of a contemporary British author Ian McEwan, The Cement Garden and to present its wide influence on art. To achieve my intention, I have focused on analyzing the play performed by Švandovo divadlo. The analysis is based on crucial events, such as the death of the father, the perish of the mother and her burial and final incestuous scene. Each moment has been closely examined so that one may understand the process of adaptation. The explanation of an adaptation process has been provided to support my claims. An opening chapter delves on the life and work of Ian McEwan, mentioning The Cement Garden which historical context is provided and on the remark regarding an evolutional process of literary work which is concerned with child protagonists. Author's inspirations and motives are also mentioned. Second chapter not only closely analyzes the novel and the crucial events, but also focuses on formal requirements, such as the narrator or the setting. Meanwhile the next chapter considers the theater adaptation and its accomplishments and downfalls. Brief explanation of possible adjustments is provided as is the difference between the prosaic text and the script. Final part is dedicated to the movie adaptation by Andrew Birkin.
