Genderové stereotypy v japonském anime na příkladu filmů Studia Ghibli

Abstract

This master thesis examines representation of women and men in Japanese anime on the example of films by the Japanese Studio Ghibli. The aim of the work was to find out whether and possibly how gender stereotypes are reproduced, whether these stereotypes change over time and what is related to their possible immutability. The research was conducted as a part of case study. Using grounded theory, all Ghibli Studio films were analysed and five main categories were created. The results of the analysis were compared with the findings of another research on a similar topic.

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá reprezentaci žen a mužů v japonském anime na příkladu filmů japonského Studia Ghibli. Cílem práce je v rámci případové studie zjistit, zdali a případně jakým způsobem jsou ve filmech Studia Ghibli reprodukovány genderové stereotypy, jestli se tyto stereotypy mění v čase a co souvisí s jejich případnou neměnností. Za využití zakotvené teorie byly analyzovány všechny filmy Studia Ghibli a následně vytvořeno pět hlavních kategorií, jež shrnují nalezená data. Výsledky analýzy byly porovnány se závěry jiného výzkumu na podobné téma.
