It maps their gradual development and the influences that have affected them. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first theoretical part is focused on the description of the historical context of the development of the nursing profession. In the second, practical part, the thesis is devoted to qualitative research, which was carried out through narrative interviews with a total of six respondents from among graduates of the Secondary School of Nursing in Uherské Hradiště and from among nurses who worked in Strážnice.

Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, v první teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na popis historických souvislostí vývoje ošetřovatelské profese. Ve druhé, praktické části, se práce věnuje kvalitativnímu výzkumu, který byl proveden narativními rozhovory s celkem šesti respondentkami z řad absolventek Střední zdravotnické školy v Uherském Hradišti a z řad zdravotních sester, které pracovaly ve Strážnici.
