Zobrazení novinářů ve vybraných románech fantastické literatury

Abstract

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of selected novels of fantastical literature and their subsequent interpretation. The aim is to explore how journalists are portrayed in these works and how their work is evaluated. In the introductory part, I focus on the fantastical genre, including its categories fantasy and science fiction and their sub-genres, such as contemporary and portal fantasy, dystopia, and humorous science fiction. The second chapter focuses on the method used in this thesis, describing qualitative research and content analysis of the texts which I used to analyse the selected novels. The chapter also includes insights on literary characters. The main part of the thesis focuses on specific series of novels, including Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Journalism and media topics are prominent in these works, and each of the series deals with a different type of media, making it possible to compare differences in the portrayal of print media, radio, television, or the internet. Předmětem této bakalářské práce je analýza vybraných románů fantastické literatury a jejich následná interpretace. Cílem je prozkoumat, jak jsou novináři v těchto dílech zobrazeni a jak je jejich práce hodnocena. V úvodní části se věnuji fantastice jako žánru, zabývám se i jejími odnožemi fantasy a science fiction a subžánry současné a portálové fantasy, dystopie a humorné science fiction. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na metodu této práce a popisuje tak kvalitativní výzkum a obsahovou analýzu textu, kterou jsem použila k analýze vybraných románů. Obsahuje i poznatky o literární postavě. Hlavní část práce se pak věnuje konkrétním sériím, kterými jsou Harry Potter (česky 2000- 2008) od J.K. Rowlingové, Hunger Games (česky 2010-2011) Suzanne Collinsové a Stopařův průvodce Galaxií (česky 1990-1995), jehož autorem je Douglas Adams. Témata žurnalistiky a médií jsou v těchto dílech prominentní a každá z těchto sérií se zabývá odlišným typem médií, díky čemuž je možné srovnávat rozdíly ve zobrazení tisku, rozhlasu, televize nebo internetu. Popisuji jejich ústřední motivy a základní dějové linie. Následuje interpretace textů, kdy se zaměřuji na konkrétní zobrazení novinářů v každé ze sérii.
