Komparace českých adaptací reality show Survivor

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of Czech adaptions of the reality show Survivor - i.e. Trosečník (Prima, 2006), Robinsonův ostrov (Nova, 2017), and Survivor Česko & Slovensko (Nova, 2022). In the theoretical part, reality TV is defined at first - its definition, characteristics, reasons for success, modes of representation, and the difference between reality TV and reality are outlined, history of the format, its classification to subgenres and reality TV in the Czech Republic is introduced. A description of the globalization of television formats and the process of adapting licensed formats follows it. In the analytical part, firstly, the comparison methodology is described, and briefly, the selected adaptions and the original global format are characterized. Subsequently, a comparison of three Czech adaptions of the reality show Survivor is accomplished. In two more recent adaptions, only the show's first series is included in the comparison. The comparison of adaptions is based on the following aspects: the name of the show, program strategy (broadcasting schedule, number, and duration of episodes, sideshow), the cast (contestants and hosts), the visual and audio elements of the show, the episode structure, rules, content selection, and feedback (viewership, reviews).

Diplomová práce se zabývá komparací českých adaptací reality show Survivor, tj. pořady Trosečník (Prima, 2006), Robinsonův ostrov (Nova, 2017) a Survivor Česko & Slovensko (Nova, 2022). V teoretické části je nejprve vymezen žánr reality show - jeho definice, znaky, důvody úspěchu, jsou nastíněny módy reprezentace a rozdíl mezi reality show a realitou, je představena historie formátu, jeho klasifikace na subžánry a v neposlední řadě reality show v českém prostředí. Dále je vymezena globalizace televizních formátů a s tím související proces adaptací licencovaných formátů. V analytické části je nejprve popsána metodologie výzkumu a ve stručnosti jsou charakterizovány vybrané adaptace a původní globální formát. Následně je provedena samotná komparace tří českých adaptací reality show Survivor, přičemž v případě dvou novějších adaptací jsou do výzkumu zahrnuty pouze první série pořadu. Adaptace jsou srovnávány na základě těchto hledisek: název pořadu, programová strategie (vysílací schéma, počet epizod a jejich stopáž, doprovodné pořady), účinkující (soutěžící a moderátoři), vizuální́ a zvuková složka pořadu, struktura dílu, pravidla soutěže, výběr obsahu a zpětná vazba (sledovanost, kritika).
