Čluny a modely člunů Abúsíru: plavidla ve starověkém Egyptě

Abstract

The presented bachelor's thesis deals with the the topic of watercraft of ancient Egypt, focusing on the materials used for their construction and the actual construction and classification of watercraft. It also seeks to demonstrate the nature of ancient Egyptian vessels through specific archaeological evidence. The main focus of the work is on boats and boat models found at the important site Abusir, which has been excavated since 1960 by the Czech Institute of Egyptology. The thesis analyses these finds, providing an inventory of them in a simple catalogue that includes two boats and 34 boat models. Overall, this work can be seen as an attempt to outline the subject of ancient Egyptian watercraft, which represented an important aspect of ancient Egyptian life.

Předkládaná bakalářská práce představuje problematiku plavidel starověkého Egypta, přičemž se soustředí na materiály užívané k jejich stavbě a na samotnou konstrukci a klasifikace plavidel. Zároveň se snaží demonstrovat povahu staroegyptských plavidel na konkrétních archeologických dokladech. Hlavním zaměřením práce jsou čluny a modely člunů nalezené na významné lokalitě Abúsír, kterou již od roku 1960 zkoumá Český egyptologický ústav. Práce analyzuje tyto nálezy, poskytuje jejich soupis v jednoduchém katalogu, který obsahuje dva čluny a 34 modelů člunů. Celkově lze tuto práci chápat jako pokus o nastínění tematiky staroegyptských plavidel, která představovala významný aspekt života starověkých Egypťanů.
