Josef Antonín Seydl v úřadu berounského děkana

Abstract

The main aim of this Bachelor's work is to create a comprehensive summary of information about the life and the work of Josef Antonín Seydl and to put this person into the historical context of his time. This thesis is aimed at the involvement of Josef Antonin Seydl in activities of national revivalists. We can see the illustration of Seydl's involvement in the process of the Czech National Revival in his work for the National Museum, in his attempt to found the reader's society or in lending the contemporary literature, written in Czech, to the poor citizens of Beroun city. For his hometown is important his historiographical work which was written with an emphasis on the importance of knowing the national language and knowing national and also regional history. This Bachelor's work should demonstrate that Josef Antonín Seydl was an important part in the process of the Czech National Revival although today is his name almost unknown. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je vytvořit ucelený přehled informací o životě a práci Josefa Antonína Seydla a zasadit tuto osobnost do historického kontextu jeho doby. Práce je věnována zapojení Josefa Antonína Seydla do aktivit národních buditelů v předbřeznové době. Doklad Seydlova podílu na procesu národního obrození můžeme spatřovat v jeho práci pro Vlastenecké muzeum, v jeho snaze o založení čtenářského spolku či v půjčování česky psané soudobé literatury nemajetným obyvatelům města Berouna. Pro jeho rodné město je významná i jeho historiografická práce, která byla také napsána s důrazem na význam znalosti národního jazyka a národních i regionálních dějin. Tato práce má dokázat, že Josef Antonín Seydl byl důležitou součástí procesu národního obrození i přesto, že je dnes jeho jméno téměř zapomenuto.
