Africká unie jako instituce "druhořadé" integrace v mezinárodních vztazích

Abstract

The thesis will focus on the African Union as an institution of the integration process of African states and its position in international relations. In the first part, the thesis will trace this process through the prism of Wendt's teleology of international relations, where decolonization can be seen as an example of Hegel's struggle for recognition. The thesis will attempt to show how the African experience develops Wendt's argument. The second part of the thesis will focus on the discussion of weak statehood in the African context, and an empirical look at the African Union as an institution that brings together mostly weak states. In the third part, African realities will be examined through the lens of Bhabha's mimicry (mimicking European integration), and also from the perspective of Wallerstein's world system theory. Práce se zaměří na Africkou unii jako instituci integračního procesu afrických států a na její pozici v mezinárodních vztazích. V první části bude práce tento proces sledovat prismatem Wendtovy teleologie mezinárodních vztahů, kdy dekolonizace může být chápána jako ukázka Hegelova boje za uznání. Práce se pokusí ukázat, čím africká zkušenost rozvíjí Wendtův argument. V druhé části se práce zaměří na diskusi slabé státnosti v africkém kontextu, a na empirický pohled na Africkou unii jako instituci sdružující převážně slabé státy. V třetí části budou africké reálie sledovány optikou Bhabhových mimiker (napodobování Evropské integrace), a zároveň i z pohledu Wallersteinovy teorie světového systému.
