Vliv francouzské katolické emigrace na emancipaci anglické katolické menšiny po roce 1789

Abstract

This thesis examines the migration of the French population to Great Britain after the outbreak of the French Revolution in 1789. It aims to elucidate the extent and context in which French Catholic emigration had an impact on the emancipation of the English Catholic minority between 1789 and 1799. The thesis also focuses on the functioning of the émigrés in Great Britain and traces their activities. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part outlines the situation of the Catholic Church in France and England in the eighteenth century, the second part examines the political attitude of Great Britain towards the French migratory wave, and the third part focuses directly on the cultural and emancipatory contribution of the émigrés in Great Britain. The thesis uses a descriptive analysis to describe and map the situations into which French migrants first entered. To critically evaluate the transformation of situations during the French migrants' stay in the Great Britain, the thesis uses a comparative method. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá migrací francouzského obyvatelstva do Velké Británie po vypuknutí Velké francouzské revoluce v roce 1789. Jejím cílem je objasnit, v jaké míře a v jakých souvislostech měla francouzská katolická emigrace vliv na emancipaci anglické katolické menšiny v letech 1789-1799. Práce se zároveň zaměřuje na fungování émigrés ve Velké Británii a mapuje jejich činnosti a aktivity. Práce je rozdělena na tři části. V první části je nastíněna situace katolické církve ve Francii a Anglii v 18. století, druhá část se věnuje politickému přístupu Velké Británie vůči francouzské migrační vlně a ve třetí části se práce se zabývá přímo kulturním a emancipačním přínosem émigrés ve Velké Británii. Pro popsání a zmapování situací, do kterých nejprve francouzští migranti vstoupili, využívá práce desktriptivní analýzu. Pro kritické zhodnocení proměny situací v průběhu pobytu francouzských migrantů ve Velké Británii práce využívá komparativní metodu.
