Analýza ženských postav a tématu exilu v tvorbě Ivy Pekárkové

Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on the prosaic work of the writer Iva Pekárková and on the development of her poetics in the time horizon from the 1990's to the present. Her texts depict her journey to exile in North America in the late 1980's, later work presents a very unconventional, but realistic depiction of life in the suburbs of New York City in the USA, while her other works follow the path of other genres, which are mainly travel novels and "blogbooks". Due to the time of her emigration (1985), Pekárková tells stories from later years than most other authors of Czech exile literature, and she also brings in the relatively unusual theme of multiculturalism, racism and various taboos for Czech literature. The thesis also focuses on the development of poetics in the author's work in relation to female protagonists, who are significant and interesting especially in terms of the themes they carry. The thesis will therefore in this second part primarily work with the theory of the three dimensions of literally characters discussed by James Phelan. This gradual development of the heroines is most evident in the first three novels, which will be the main basis of this thesis. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na prozaickou tvorbu Ivy Pekárkové a její poetický vývoj v časovém horizontu od zhruba 90. let minulého století prakticky až do současnosti. Texty této autorky zachycují cestu do exilu do Severní Ameriky na sklonku 80. let, později přináší velmi netradičně, avšak realisticky zachycený život v okrajových čtvrtích amerického New Yorku, další tvorba se pak ubírá cestou jiných žánrů, kterými jsou především románové cestopisy a "blogoknihy". Vlivem doby své emigrace (1985) tedy Pekárková vypráví příběhy z pozdějších let než většina ostatních autorů a autorek české exilové literatury, přináší také pro českou literaturu poměrně neobvyklé téma multikulturalismu, rasismu a různých tabu. Práce se s využitím oborné literatury soustředí také na vývoj poetiky v tvorbě autorky ve vztahu k ženským hrdinkám, které jsou podstatné a zajímavé především z hlediska témat, jichž jsou nositelkami. Práce bude proto primárně v této druhé části pracovat s teorií třech dimenzí postav, o které pojednává James Phelan. Tento postupný vývoj hrdinek je nejzřetelnější v prvních třech románech, ze kterých bude tato práce vycházet nejvíce. Soustředí se zejména na analýzu a komparaci ženských postav, jež získávají v dílech Ivy Pekárkové podoby osamostatněných hrdinek z přelomu tisíciletí.
