Fyzické podmínky uskladnění a ochrana fondu starých tisků ve vybraných knihovnách Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with the conditions of storage and handling of old prints and rare books published before 1860 in the holdings of the Jan Palach Library, the Department of Germanic Studies Library and the Historical Cabinet, sub-libraries of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. It is written as a case study based on a combination of temperature and air humidity measurements and observations, mapping the current condition of shelves and racks, air pollution, lighting conditions, basic handling of books, and the protection of the collection. It also evaluates threats based on its findings. The obtained data showed that the conditions in these libraries are not suitable and require implementing specific changes proposed in the work. Tato bakalářská práce řeší podmínky uložení a manipulaci se starými tisky a vzácnými knihami vydanými do roku 1860 ve fondech Knihovny Jana Palacha, Knihovny Ústavu germánských studií a Historického kabinetu, dílčích knihoven Knihovny Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy. Jedná se o případovou studii založenou na kombinaci měření teploty a vlhkosti vzduchu a pozorování, mapující současný stav regálů a polic, znečištění ovzduší, světelných podmínek, a také základní manipulaci s knihami, ochranu fondu a jeho ohrožení. Získaná data ukázala, že podmínky v těchto knihovnách nejsou plně vyhovující a vyžadují provedení určitých změn, které jsou v práci navrženy.
