The Evolution of Propaganda in the Terrogram Community

Abstract

V posledních letech narůstají případy krajně pravicového terorismu, který je však ve srovnání s džihádistickým terorismem stále nedostatečně prozkoumán. Proto se tato diplomová práce zaměřuje na Terrorgram Collective, volně uspořádanou skupinu ideologických vůdců v rámci širšího pole krajně pravicového extremismu militantního akceleracionismu. Hlavním cílem militantního akceleracionismu je urychlit kolaps současné společnosti za účelem nastolení nového neonacistického řádu. Analyzovány jsou tři publikace vytvořené Terrorgram Collective: "Do It for the Gram", "Militant Accelerationism" a "Hard Reset". Cílem této práce je porozumět narativům a širším tématům v tomto extrémně pravicovém prostoru. Proto byl zvolen přístup smíšených metod, přičemž kvantitativní přístup tvoří páteř práce a kvalitativní poznatky poskytují detailnější kontextuální porozumění publikací Terrorgram Collective. Kromě předpokládaných témat a narativů bylo odhaleno několik nových, jako například téma sabotérů nebo christianizace teroru nad rámec fenoménu Saints. Tato práce také představuje navrhovanou cestu k transcendenci ze strany Terrogram Collective osvětlující rozdíly mezi skutečnou a imaginární in-group. Far-right terrorism has emerged in recent years in the West, yet it remains understudied when compared to jihadist terrorism. Therefore, this study focuses on the Terrorgram Collective, a presumably loose group of ideological leaders positioned in a broader far-right extremist field of militant accelerationism. The main goal of militant accelerationism is to accelerate the collapse of current society to establish new neo-Nazi order. Three of Terrorgram Collective's publications are analyzed: "Do It for the Gram", "Militant Accelerationism", and "Hard Reset". This thesis aims to understand narratives and broader themes within this milieu. Hence, a mixed-methods approach was adopted with a quantitative approach forming the backbone of the thesis and qualitative insights providing a nuanced contextual understanding of the work of Terrorgram Collective. Except for assumed themes and narratives, several new ones are uncovered such as the theme of saboteurs or Christianization of terror. This thesis also presents the proposed pathway to transcendence by Terrogram Collective illuminating the differences between real and imagined in-group.
