Abstract

The theoretical part of the thesis delves into the subject of gender in all the necessary dimensions for the elaboration of this work. The term is initially characterized in a broader context and further developed through gender roles and their shaping in society, including more specific terms such as masculinity and femininity, and gender stereotypes. The focus extends to relationships in connection with gender, where the influence of family relationships on development, the impact of peers, and parasocial relationships, relationships between fans and celebrities, are thoroughly examined. Additionally, there is a chapter on what is typical in fashion for men and women. The work places a central emphasis on exploring fandom, with definitions in this area. This includes an exploration of fandom itself, the perception of the term 'fan,' boy bands, and fandoms. The chapter on Harry Styles dissects his stance on gender through various statements, fashion, and the lyrics of his songs. The practical part of the thesis involves semi-structured interviews with fans, representing both women and men. Based on the results and materials, subsequent analyses are conducted. Diplomová práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá tématem genderu ve všech směrech, které jsou potřeba k vypracování práce. Tento pojem je nejprve charakterizován v širším kontextu a je dále rozvíjen pomocí genderových rolí, jejich formování ve společnosti a konkrétnějších termínů jako je maskulinita, feminita a také genderové stereotypy. Teoretická část se zaměřuje i na vztahy ve spojení s genderem, kde je podrobněji rozebrán vliv rodinných vztahů na vývoj, vliv vrstevníků a parasociální vztahy, což jsou vztahy mezi fanoušky a celebritami. Následuje kapitola o tom, co je v módě typické pro muže a ženy. Pro práci je stěžejní zaměřit se na fanouškovství jako takové, takže nechybí ani definice v této oblasti. Konkrétně samotné fanouškovství, vnímání pojmu fanoušek, boybandy a fandomy. Samotná kapitola o Harry Stylesovi pak rozebírá jeho postavení vůči genderu skrze různá prohlášení, módu a texty jeho písní. Praktická část práce je provedena pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s fanoušky v za stoupení žen i mužů z České republiky. Na základě výsledků a materiálů jsou následně analyzovány výsledky. Práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat, jak vnímají fanoušci Harryho Stylese genderové role ve společnosti a zda jsou tedy ovlivněni jeho názory v této problematice.
