Ganja ve víře a praxi rastafariánů

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá využitím a chápáním ganja (marihuany) v kontextu rastafariánské víry. Toto afroamerické náboženství jamajského původu jsem nezkoumal ani v České republice, ani v jeho původním prostředí, ale ve východoafrickém státě Tanzanie. Součástí bakalářské práce je také terénní výzkum, provedený v tanzanském městě Moshi v roce 2002 a zahrnující celkem 20 kvalitativních polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s respondenty z řad rastafariánských mužů. Zvláštní část analýzy jsem věnoval otázce dvojvěří. Práce se snaží odpovědět na základní chápání, vnímání a použití ganja v kontextu této specifické části světa.

This thesis deals with the use and understanding of ganja (marijuana) in the context of the Rastafarian faith. I researched this African-American religion of Jamaican origin neither in the Czech Republic nor in its original environment, but in the East African state of Tanzania. The bachelor thesis also includes field research, conducted in the Tanzanian city of Moshi in 2002 and including a total of 20 qualitative semi-structured interviews with Rastafarian male respondents. I dedicated a special part of the analysis to the question of double faith. The work tries to answer the basic understanding, perception and use of ganja in the context of this specific part of the world.
