Anglické povstání roku 1381 očima současníků

Abstract

Tato práce se zaměří na analýzu dobových pramenů týkajících se povstání roku 1381 v Anglii a některých klíčových momentů, které mu předcházely. Cílem bude zkoumat především to, jak jejich autoři vnímali samotné povstání a jeho účastníky. Kromě práce s prameny a popisu průběhu povstání bude dále také věnována pozornost politické a hospodářsko-sociální situaci v Anglii během 14. století a jakým způsobem mohla napomoct k vypuknutí povstání. Na samý závěr proběhne zamyšlení nad historickým významem povstání a jakým způsobem, jestli tedy vůbec, ovlivnilo následující směřování anglické monarchie.

This thesis will focus on an analysis of contemporary sources relating to the 1381 uprising in England and some of the key moments that preceded it. In particular, the aim will be to examine how their authors perceived the rebellion itself and its participants. In addition to working with the sources and describing the course of the rebellion, attention will also be paid to the political and socio-economic situation in England during the fourteenth century and how it may have contributed to the outbreak of the rebellion. At the very end, reflection will be given to the historical significance of the rebellion and how, if at all, it influenced the subsequent direction of the English monarchy.
