Narativní analýza obrazu italské imigrace v argentinském dramatu ve 20. století

Abstract

Předmětem této diplomové práce je narativní analýza obrazu italských imigrantů v argentinském dramatu 20. let 20. století. Teoretická část práce se zabývá historickým a sociálně-ekonomickým kontextem italské migrace, jejími příčinami a důsledky, jako je začlenění italských imigrantů do argentinské společnosti, či naopak jejich exkluze. Představuje počátky argentinského divadla a úlohu Italů v rozvoji her určených (nejen) pro nižší společenské třídy. Pozornost je věnována také unikátnímu argentinskému fenoménu conventillos, tj. obytným domům pro chudé. V analytické části pak na ukázkách vybraného korpusu argentinských divadelních her ukazuje narativy spojené s italskou imigrací do Argentiny a interpretuje je v souvislosti se sociálně-ekonomickou situací Italů žijících v Buenos Aires. Důraz přitom klade nejen na autory her jako tvůrce narativů, ale také na diváky a většinovou společnost. Cílem této práce je demonstrovat na zvolených divadelních hrách zobrazení postav italských imigrantů a jejich sociálně-ekonomickou situaci v Argentině v období 20. let 20. století.

The subject of this thesis is a narrative analysis of the portrayal of Italian immigrants in Argentine drama of the 1920s. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the historical and socio-economic context of Italian migration, its causes and consequences, such as the integration of Italian immigrants into Argentine society or, on the contrary, their exclusion. It presents the beginnings of Argentine drama and the role of Italians in the development of plays aimed at (not only) lower social classes. Attention is also given to the unique Argentine phenomenon of conventillos, i.e., residential buildings for the poor. In the analytical part, using samples from a selected corpus of Argentine plays, it demonstrates narratives associated with Italian immigration to Argentina and interprets them in the context of the socio-economic situation of Italians living in Buenos Aires. The emphasis is placed not only on the authors of the plays as creators of narratives but also on the audience and the mainstream society. The aim of this work is to demonstrate, through selected plays, the portrayal of Italian immigrant characters and their socio-economic situation in Argentina during the 1920s.
