Dr. Jiří Purš: Portrét filmového funkcionáře

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se snaží vytvořit portrét života Jiřího Purše, který v letech 1969-1988 působil jako ústřední ředitel Československého filmu. Práce je rozdělena na tři hlavní části, přičemž každá z nich využívá odlišných primárních pramenů. První část, která mapuje mládí a počátek kariéry Jiřího Purše, je opřena o rozsáhlý rozhovor z archivu NFA, který je doplněn řadou informací z kádrových složek ÚV KSČ a dalších archivních pramenů. Druhá část sumarizuje působení Jiřího Purše ve funkci ústředního ředitele. Jako zdroje jsou použity osobní vzpomínky tvůrců, bohatá sekundární literatura, která byla k tématu sepsána a v neposlední řadě i četné projevy a publikace přímo od Jiřího Purše. Závěrečný segment nastiňuje okolnosti odchodu Jiřího Purše z funkce ústředního ředitele Československého filmu, k jejichž pochopení slouží dva nevydané Puršovy rukopisy. Celkově tato práce přispívá k hlubšímu porozumění životnímu příběhu Jiřího Purše a jeho funkce v rámci normalizované kinematografie.

The bachelor thesis attempts to create a portrait of the life of Jiří Purš, who served as the central director of Czechoslovak film from 1969 to 1988. The thesis is divided into three main parts, each of which uses different primary sources. The first part, which traces the youth and early career of Jiří Purš, is based on an extensive interview from the NFA archive, which is supplemented by a range of information from the cadre files of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and other archival sources. The second part summarises Jiří Purš's tenure as Central Director. The sources used are the personal recollections of the authors, the rich secondary literature that has been written on the subject and, last but not least, numerous speeches and publications written directly by Jiří Purs. The final segment outlines the circumstances of Jiří Purš's departure from his position as the central director of Czechoslovak film, which can be understood through two unpublished manuscripts by Purš. Overall, this thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of Jiří Purš's life story and his function within normalization period cinema.
