Umelci a resiliencia

Abstract

Práca podáva porovnanie umeleckej populácie hudobných skladateľov s populáciou normálnou v charakteristikách resiliencie, konkrétne hardiness a sense of coherence, a charakteristike kreativity. Súčasne sa zamýšľa nad možnosťou, že by vyššia miera kreativity mohla súvisieť s vyššou mierou resiliencie. Práca vo svojej podstate preveruje väčšinový názor, že umelci sú pri zvládaní stresu jedincami slabšími než populácia normálna. Výskum prináša zistenie, že umelci sú s normálnou populáciou v zvládaní rovnocenní, ba dokonca ju v prevyšujú v charakteristike "výzvy" z konceptu hardiness. Vo výskume sa taktiež preukázala prepojenosť resiliencie s niektorými súčasťami kreativity.

This master thesis offers a comparison of the characteristics of resilience, concrete hardiness, Sense of Coherence, and traits of creativity between a population of artists (composers) and a normal population. Along with it, it considers the possibility that higher creativity may correlate with higher resilience. The thesis is questioning the opinion of majority, that artists are weaker than normal population, when facing stressful event. The research shows, that artists are equal with normal population in resilience, and even stronger in characteristics of the "challenge" in concept of hardiness. The research also proves the correlation of resilience with some elements of creativity.
