| dc.description.abstract | This paper focuses on the professional life of Karel Čapek as a playwright and deals mainly with his three most famous plays - R.U.R., The White Disease and The Mother. I hold forth on these dramas as regards the plot, characters, environment and how these dramas were adopted by literary and theater critics. Finally, you will find out if Karel Čapek lives up to the present time. Are his plays still acted in the theatres? Are his books still sold in the bookstores?
