Hedgeové fondy: Investiční strategie a regulace

Abstract

Ačkoliv hedgeové fondy tvoří minoritní část z globálních investičních fondů, za poslední dvě dekády si vybudovaly silnou pozici mezi instičními možnostmi pro institucionální investory. Kvůli nedávné finanční krizi a kvůli strachu z možných rizik s hedgeovými fondy spojenými se na ně poprvé začínají regulátoři trhu více zaměřovat. Tato práce se zabývá investičními strategii hedgeových fondů a regulačními snahami v USA. Aby bylo možné pochopit a vyhodnotit tuto regulaci, je nejprve nutné tyto fondy definovat a uvést některá jejich specifika. Pro pochopení unikátní role hedgeových fondů jsou dále uvedeny některé užívané investiční strategie. Následně jsou popsána rizika související s hedgeovými fondy. Po vysvětlení těchto specifik se práce může věnovat jejich regulaci v USA a závěrem jsou tyto snahy vyhodnoceny. Klíčová slova hedge, fond, regulace, Dodd-Frank, AIFM, strategie, riziko, výkonnost

Even though hedge funds account for a small portion of global investment funds, they have achieved a strong position in investment options for institutional investors in last two decades. Due to recent financial crisis and a fear of possible risks connected with hedge funds, regulators start to focus more on regulation of this industry. This thesis focus mainly on investment strategies of hedge funds and on regulatory efforts in the USA. Before the work describes this, it is necessary to define and specify them. Then some of common used investment strategies are introduced in order to better describe the unique role of hedge funds to reader.
