Johannes Mathesius a Jáchymov

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá osobou luteránského kazatele a rektora latinské školy Johanna Mathesia, jenž byl blízkým přítelem Martina Luthera, a který v průběhu 16. století působil jako rektor a později kazatel v krušnohorském pohraničním horním městě českého království Jáchymově. Zabývá se též hospodářskými, politickými a kulturními vlivy, které formovaly nejen život tohoto města v době jeho největší slávy spojené s těžbou stříbrné rudy, ale i život samotného Johanna Mathesia, který byl s tímto městem a jeho děním velmi úzce spjat a velmi se zasadil o jeho kulturní a především církevní povznesení v duchu reformační víry. Tato práce se také zabývá i osobním a tvůrčím životem Johanna Mathesia a jeho dílem.

This thesis deals with a Lutheran preacher and rector of a Latin School - Johannes Mathesius. He was a close friend of Martin Luther and also a rector and later on a preacher in Jachymov. This was a border mining town in the Ore Mountains in the Czech Kingdom. The thesis also deals with the economic, political and cultural impacts which formed the life of this town during its greatest fame associated with the mining of silver ore. Johannes Mathesius was connected with this town and its events and he contributed to its cultural and religious rise in the spirit of a reformative belief. The thesis deals with the personal and creative life of Johannes Mathesius and his work.
