Kateřina Papežová, Collaboration of czech and austrian border regions after 1989 This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cooperation between border regions of the Czech Republic and Austria since the opening of the common border in 1989 until the Czech Republic's entering the European Union in 2004. The aim of the thesis is to observe the influence of the opening of the border on the regions and the development of the cooperation in the following years. The introduction presents the development of the interstate relations between the Czech Republic and Austria in 1989-2004. The following chapters focus on three areas of cooperation of border regions that have been selected in order to monitor the intensifying of the regional cross-border cooperation. The first chapter concentrates on the initial contacts between the inhabitants of the regions on the occasion of cross-border encounters and cultural events. It also deals with the positive and negative effects of opening the border for the border regions. In the second chapter, attention is given to the efforts of Czechs and Austrians living in the neighborhood of the border to understand each other, as well as to the prejudices and stereotypes that contributed to misunderstandings between the neighboring nations. diplomové práce Kateřina Papežová, Spolupráce českých a rakouských příhraničních regionů po roce 1989 Diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem spolupráce mezi příhraničními regiony České republiky a Rakouska od otevření společné hranice v roce 1989 po vstup České republiky do Evropské unie v roce 2004. Cílem diplomové práce je sledovat, jak se v těchto regionech projevilo otevření hranice a jak se spolupráce mezi nimi vyvíjela v pozdějších letech. V úvodu práce je představen rámcový vývoj mezistátních vztahů mezi Českou republikou a Rakouskem v letech 1989-2004, v následujících kapitolách je pak zpracován vývoj spolupráce příhraničních regionů ve třech oblastech, které byly vybrány s cílem sledovat prohlubování regionální přeshraniční spolupráce. První oblast je zaměřená na prvotní kontakty mezi obyvateli regionů u příležitosti přeshraničních setkání a kulturních akcí. Zabývá se také pozitivními příležitostmi i negativními dopady, které do příhraničních regionů přineslo otevření hranice. Ve druhé kapitole je pozornost věnována snahám o porozumění mezi Čechy a Rakušany žijícími v sousedství hranice. Porozumění je zde pojímáno nejen ve smyslu překonávání jazykové bariéry, ale také přeneseně v podobě vyrovnávání se s předsudky a stereotypy, které přispívaly k váznoucí komunikaci mezi sousedními národy....
