Příspěvek ke studiu dějin anglických kolonií v Severní Americe se zvláštním přihlédnutím ke způsobu jejich správy v 17. století

Abstract

Diplomová práce klade důraz na vznik a uplatňování anglické koloniální politiky a autority ve Virginii v průběhu 17. století. Zabývá se vytvářením politické a administrativní struktury. Primárně se zaměřuje na charakter, činnost, důvody konfliktů a jejich následné řešení. Soustřeďuje se na vztahy mezi vedoucími institucemi; guvernér, guvernérská rada, shromáždění a Tajná rada, ale také na vztahy mezi Virginií a Anglií. Dále se zaměřuje na způsoby jmenování guvernérů, členů guvernérské rady a volbu členů shromáždění. Popisuje počátky a vývoj hrabského a místního uspořádání. The thesis lays emphasis on the establishment and exercise of English colonial policy and authority in Virginia during the 17th century. The thesis deals with the political bodies, administrative structure and framework of political system. Primarily is focused on the character, activity, the causes of conflicts and their resolutions. The thesis concentrates on the relations among the leading institutions in Virginia; e.g. Governor, Council of State, General Assembly, but also between Virginia and England. Further, tries to get hold of the ways of appointment of the governors, councillors and election of the burgesses. The thesis also describes the origin and development of the county and local system.
