Abstract

Osobnost Josefa Fanty a jeho secesní tvorba Diplomová práce se bude zabývat osobností Josefa Fanty, který žil v letech 1856- 1954 a jeho secesní tvorbou. V první části přiblíží osobnost Josefa Fanty a nastíní jeho historizující tvorbu. Poté se hlavní část práce zaměří na Fantovu uměleckou tvorbu ovlivněnou secesí z let 1897-1932. Nejprve se budě věnovat jeho secesním stavbám v Praze i mimo hlavní město. Pozornost bude soustředěna na budovu nádraží Františka Josefa v Praze, dnešní Hlavní nádraží, Hlahol a Mohylu míru. Práce rovněž představí Fantovu funerální tvorbu a pomníky. Dále se dotkne jeho zásahů do historických budov a jeho práce v rámci návrhů interiérů, zejména jeho interiér na Světové výstavě v Paříži 1900 a jeho výzdobu při návštěvě císaře Františka Josefa I. v Praze. The Personality of Josef Fanta and his Art Nouveau works This thesis will deal with the personality and Art Nouveau works of Josef Fanta, who lived from 1856 to 1954. In the first part, the thesis approaches the personality of Josef Fanta and outlines his style of historicism. The main part of the thesis will focus on Fanta's works influenced by Art Nouveau during the period 1897-1932. First, it will deal with his Art Nouveau buildings in Prague and also outside the Capital. Attention will be focused on the Railway Station building of Franz Joseph in Prague, today's main railway station, the Hlahol building and the Cairn of Peace Memorial. This thesis also introduces Fanta's tombs, headstones and memorials. The thesis touch on his rebuilding of old historical buldings and his influence within interior design, particulary his designs in the Austrian pavilion at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris and his decorations for the visit of Franz Joseph to Prague in 1907. Lastly, this thesis will try to define Fanta's motifs in the Art Nouveau style and his interpretation of Art Nouveau. Keywords Art Nouveau, Josef Fanta, architecture, historicism, tombs and headstones
