Proč se na křesťanské Maltě mluví arabsky? Dědictví Orientu v utváření maltské kultury

Abstract

Bachelor's work "Why is Arabic spoken in Christian Malta? The heritage of the Orient on the formation of Malta's culture first solves with in the Phoenician colonisation of the Mediterranean island of Malta. In addition, the information on the Christian-Jewish communities on the island is briefly outlined. Following the subsequent Arab government in the Mediterranean, the work focuses on the recatholicization of the island through the Inquisition. There will also be reference to the action of Jesuits, which paradoxically supported the Oriental heritage. The next part of the work is about Maltese, Semitic. The conclusion of the work looks at the current relationship of the Maltese to the Arab heritage, the effect of Arabic on the Maltese Catholic liturgy, and the attitude towards the Arab and Islam in general. Bakalářská práce "Proč se na křesťanské Maltě mluví arabsky? Dědictví Orientu na utváření maltské kultury" se zabývá nejprve fénickou kolonizací středomořského ostrova Malta. Dále jsou stručně nastíněny informace o křesťansko-židovských komunitách na ostrově. Po následné arabské vládě ve Středomoří se práce zaměřuje na rekatolizaci ostrova prostřednictvím inkvizice. Zmínka bude i o působení jezuitů, kteří orientální dědictví paradoxně podporovali. Další část práce pojednává o maltštině, semitském jazyku. Závěr práce nahlíží na současný vztah Malťanů k arabskému dědictví, uvede vliv arabštiny na maltskou katolickou liturgii a postoj k Arabům a islámu obecně.
