Valentín García Yebra a jeho přínos k vývoji translatologie

Abstract

Touto teoretickou prací jsme se pokusili přispět k dějinám translatologie. Jejím účelem bylo podat souhrnnou analýzu díla Valentína Garcíi Yebry a jeho recepce ve španělském odborném i denním tisku. Součástí práce je stručný přehled předchůdců Garcíi Yebry na poli teoretické reflexe o překladu, dále jeho biografie a průřez jeho překladatelskou činností. Největší důraz je však kladen na analýzu jeho úvah o teorii, kritice a historii překladu. Samotné analýze předchází oddíl, který obsahuje anotace jednotlivých zkoumaných monografií. Cílem rozboru prací, věnovaných překladu a překládání, bylo určit několik oblastí translatologie, jimiž se García Yebra zabýval nejvíce, a syntetizovat jeho myšlenky do určitých tematických celků. Mezi nejvýznamnější oblasti zájmu Garcíi Yebry jsme zařadili jeho definici překladu a obecné myšlenky o úloze a možnosti překladu. Dále se zabýváme druhy překladu, dvoufázovým překladatelským procesem a faktory, jež do něho vstupují. Zaměřujeme se také na roli lingvistiky v teorii překladu u Garcíi Yebry, neboť její vliv na translatologův přístup ke zkoumání překladu je silně patrný. Další oddíly se věnují postoji Garcíi Yebry k dynamické ekvivalenci, k úloze překladu v obohacování jazyka a také ke vzdělávání překladatelů, jemuž badatel zasvětil část života. The purpose of the paper "Valentín García Yebra and his Contribution to Translation Studies" is to provide an overall analysis of García Yebra's works and their reception in Spanish press and magazines specialized on translation. Part of the paper is dedicated to the summary of García Yebra's predecessors on this field, to his biography and his career as a professional translator. But the major emphasis rests upon the analysis of his thoughts on theory, critique and history of translation. As a part of the analysis, we provide a summary of all the books in question. The purpose of the analysis is to determine the most important areas of García Yebra's thoughts and to synthesize them into thematic units. The most significant areas contain the definition of translation and some general ideas on the role and possibility of translation. Next, we deal with the types of translation, the two-phase process of translation and the factors affecting it. We also study the function of linguistics in García Yebra's approach to translation. The following sections deal with the investigator's approach to dynamic equivalence, with the role of translation in enriching a language and with the education of translators, which was one of his life's missions.
