Spisovatelka a její kritici. České reflexe tweetů J. K. Rowlingové o trans lidech

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the presentation of the conflict between the writer J.K. Rowling and her critics on five of the most widely read Czech online news portals, namely Novinky.cz, Lidovky.cz, Aktualne.cz, Echo24.cz, and iDNES.cz. The thesis examines the textual strategies used to communicate about trans individuals and the controversy surrounding them. The thesis employs methods derived from ethnomethodology, specifically Membership Categorization Analysis (MCA) and Media Dialogical Network (MDN). Using the MCA method, it was found that by categorizing the writer and her critics into collections of membership categories, a certain image of the situation was conveyed. The controversy was portrayed as interpersonal drama among celebrities, damage to J.K. Rowling's career, cancel culture, injecting politics into the apolitical sphere of art and culture, but only rarely as the struggle of trans people for their rights. In the analysis of texts using the MDN method, it was found that the portals, in developing the dialogic network, focus primarily on how the specific case harmed the life and career of Rowling and other artists. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje prezentaci konfliktu mezi spisovatelkou J. K. Rowlingovou a jejími kritiky na pěti z nejčtenějších českých internetových zpravodajských serverů, tj. na severech Novinky.cz, Lidovky.cz, Aktualne.cz, Echo24.cz a iDNES.cz. Práce se zabývá tím, jaké textové strategie jsou používány ke komunikaci o trans lidech a kontroverzi, která se jich týká. Používá metody vycházející z entometodologie, konkrétně členskou kategorizační analýzu (ČKA) a dialogickou mediální síť (DMS). Pomocí metody ČKA bylo zjištěno, že díky řazení spisovatelky a její kritiků do souborů členských kategorií byl předáván určitý obraz situace. Kontroverze byla zobrazována jako mezilidské drama mezi celebritami, újma na kariéře spisovatelky J. K. Rowlingové, cancelling, vnášení politiky do apolitické sféry umění a kultury, ale pouze výjimečně jako boj trans lidí za jejich práva. Při analýze textů metodou DMS bylo zjištěno, že servery se při rozvíjení dialogické sítě soustředí především na to, jak daná kauza ublížila životu a kariéře Rowlingové a jiným umělcům. Ve zprávách tak byli odsunuti do pozadí samotní trans lidé, jejichž životy a práva jsou tematizována pouze minimálně.
