Le mythe grec dans le théâtre de Wajdi Mouawad

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá funkci řeckého mýtu v dramatu Wajdiho Mouawada. Práce si dává za cíl odhalit, jakou roli mohou mýty v současném frankofonním divadle plnit, přičemž předkládá analýzu dvou divadelních her, Incendies a Forêts z cyklu "Le Sang des promesses", opírajících se svými tématy a strukturou o antický hypotext, Sofoklova Krále Oidipa. Práce nejprve nahlíží koncept mýtu v literatuře a možnosti jeho analýzy. Posléze se zabývá autorem samotným, jeho tvorbou a nejčastějšími tématy jeho děl. Dále osvětluje kontext vzniku cyklu "Le Sang des promesses" a přibližuje děj jednotlivých her. Samotná analýza mytologických prvků a jejich funkce ve studovaných dílech je předmětem poslední části práce.

This thesis examines the function of the Greek myth in the theatre of Wajdi Mouawad. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the roles of Greek myths in the contemporary francophone theatre by presenting an analysis of two plays, Incendies and Forêts, from the series "Le Sang des promesses", which rely by their topics and structure on a Greek ancient hypotext, Oedipus Rex by Sophocle. Firstly, the thesis looks at the concept of myth in literature and the possibilities of analysis. Secondly, it examines the author himself, his work and the most common topics in his work. Thirdly, the thesis briefly explains the context of the creation of the cycle "Le Sang des promesses" and presents the plot of each play. The analysis of mythological elements and their function in the studied plays is the subject of the last part of the thesis.
