Gated communities: resideční separace a privatizace veřejného prostoru v Česku

Abstract

Předkládaná diplomová práce se věnuje problematice gated communities, to znamená extrémní formě residenční separace. Gated communities se stávají novým a specifickým fenoménem v současných globalizujicích se městech. Počet těchto objektů na celém světě rapidně roste a v poslední době tento fenomén dorazil i do Česka, kde však odborná ani laická debata, týkající se problematiky gated communities, není příliš rozvinutá. Hlavním cílem práce je přispět k této diskuzi a být ustavující empirickou studií pro český vědecký diskurz. Tato studie chce pomoci k celkovému poznání gated communities. Text je zaměřen především na zhodnocení vývoje výstavby, vlastností, prostorového rozšíření, příčin vzniku a důsledků gated communities v Praze, tedy v městě s nejvyšší koncentrací gated communities v Česku (celkem zde můžeme nalézt 59 těchto objektů). Jejich masivní výstavba začala v posledních čtyřech až pěti letech, kdy gated communities přestaly být dostupné pouze pro nejbohatší vrstvu obyvatel. Oproti jiným státům jsou lokalizovány především ve vnitřním městě a liší se i v základní příčině vzniku: v mnoha státech způsobuje jejich výstavbu strach z kriminality. The diploma thesis is focused on the phenomenon of gated communities which represent the extreme form of residential separation. Gated communities are becoming the new and specific sign in present-day globalizing cities. The number of objects of gated communities is growing quickly all over the world, and now this issue appeared in the Czech Republic. But common or expert debate concerning the topic is not developed here. The main aim of this piece of work is to contribute to this debate, and at the same time, to be the constitutive empirical research applied to the Czech scientific discourse. This study intends to help with the overall recognition of gated communities. The work is primarily aimed at evaluation of development of housing construction, features, territorial extension, causes of formation and consequences of gated communities in the capital Prague. It means in the place with the highest concentration of gated communities in the Czech Republic; 59 of these objects were found there.
