Vztah křesťanství a metalu

Abstract

Záměrem mé práce je rozšířit poznatky doposud nepříliš probádaných kulturně-religiosních vztahů mezi křesťanstvím a subkulturou metalové hudby. Vztah křesťanství a metalu jako téma ve společenské diskuzi působí často jako něco, co je na první pohled nesmyslné, ba přímo nemyslitelné. Nicméně metalová hudba už od samého vzniku nějakým způsobem na křesťanství reagovala a podobně i křesťanství na ni. Už od počátku byl tedy na této rovině přítomen nějaký vztah, který je jistě zajímavé sledovat. Místy došlo k velmi ostrému násilnému vyhrocení a jindy zase oboje dokáží koexistovat vedle sebe, ba i pospolu. Zprvu se pokusím ve stručnosti nastínit co je přesně míněno pod pojmem metal, kde se vzal a jak vznikal. Dále se chci věnovat nastínění problematiky vztahu, religiozitě metalové hudby, jistému procesu denominalizace metalu a představení textů které se týkají tématu, případně uplatnění hudby při křesťanských shromážděních. Uvedu také některé představitele křesťanského metalu tzv. white metalu, dále satanistického blackmetalu, a jejich postavení na světové hudební scéně. Budu se tedy soustředit na postupné sledování jednotlivých rovin tohoto vztahu, částečně historicky a s příhledem k aktuální situaci. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The purpose of my thesis is to extend the knowledge about an obscure cultural-religious relationship between Christianity and subculture of Metal music. The relationship between Christianity and Metal does not really come to mind as a topic for social discussion; rather it might appear as pointless or even unthinkable. Nevertheless, Metal music was responding to Christianity right from its origin and likewise Christianity was responding to Metal. Thus there was a specific relationship present from the beginning, which is surely worth to be tracking down. At times there were very acute violent escalations, and at other times they both were able to coexist next to each other or even together. At first, I will try to outline what the concept of Metal means, where it came from and how it came into an existence. Next I want to explore certain issues of this relationship, such as the religiosity of Metal music, "denominalisation" of Metal, survey of other works related to this topic and even the possible employment of music within Christian worship services. I will also address certain representatives of Christian Metal, so-called white Metal, satanistic blackmetal and their position/status on the world music scene.
