Vzdělávání a gender - příčiny, souvislosti a možná řešení problému genderové nerovnosti

Abstract

Základním tématem této bakalářské práce je hledání souvislostí mezi biologickým pohlavím člověka, jeho genderem (sociálním konstruktem pohlaví) a postavením ve společnosti. Zjišťuje nejenom příčiny a souvislosti nerovného přístupu k mužům a ženám, ale snaží se nalézt možné způsoby řešení této problematiky, a to pomocí vzdělávání. První kapitola objasňuje základní pojmy a vztah mezi nimi, dále vznik biologického pohlaví člověka a vytváření genderu. Tento pojem vysvětluje jako sociálně podmíněné kulturní rozdíly mezi muži a ženami. Jsou zde rozvedena také některá základní teoretická východiska objasňující konstrukci genderu, a především proces socializace jedince, během něhož se gender člověka tvoří. Cílem druhé kapitoly je přiblížit roli školy a školského systému při zakládání a udržování společenských nerovností. Vysvětluje mechanismy, jimiž se škola podílí na socializaci člověka, se zřetelem na vytváření, resp. posilování genderové identity dítěte. Jako významný faktor posilující tradiční chápání genderových rolí je shledáno působení učitele a jejich přístupu k žákům. Účelem třetí kapitoly je vymezit obsah vzdělávání dospělých, jeho základní principy, cíle a funkce. Je zde kladen důraz na neformální a informální učení dospělých a rovněž tzv. sebeřízené učení. The subject matter of this paper is searching for relations established between one's biological sex, gender (the social construction of sex) and position in the society. It discovers the causes and correlations of unequal attitude towards men and women, as well as it attempts at finding possible solutions of the issue by means of education. The first chapter explains the basic terms and relations between them, the creation of human biological sex and establishment of gender. The term is explained as socially conditioned cultural differences between men and women. The chapter also states certain theoretical standpoints clarifying gender construction, in particular the process of socialization of an individual, during which the person's gender is created. The aim of the second chapter is to describe the role of educational institutions and the system of education in establishing and maintaining social inequalities. It explains the mechanisms of schools contributing to socialization of a person, with a special emphasis on creating, or supporting gender identity of a child. The work of teachers and their attitude to pupils is an important aspect supporting the traditional perception of gender roles.
