Putování geniem loci (Kulturní krajina Čech)

Abstract

Na začátku mé diplomové práce "cesty" krajinou, stál osamocený pojem ducha místa - bylo třeba jej vsadit do kontextu, který by mu byl vlastní - do prostoru a času - tedy do kulturní krajiny jako struktury s vlastní dynamikou, strukturou a pamětí (ad. 1. 1) a času událostí, času dlouhého trvání a času vnímaného (ad 1. 2.). Celou mou prací se táhne jako tenká červená nit motiv "porozumění krajině" (ad 1. 4.), spočívající na základě dualistického konceptu posvátné - profánní. Nejprve jsem s použitím cílkovských tvrdých metod mapovala existenci posvátného v oblasti "vnějšího" světa: kulturně-historicko-archeologický přístup k utváření kulturní krajiny (ad kap. 2.1) - za prvé v obecné rovině zejména podle Gojdy a s detailnějším rozborem historie české kulturní krajiny v prezentaci J. Sádla (kap. 2. 1. 3.): neolitická revoluce - baroko - 50. léta. Období baroka se ukázalo v tomto kontextu jako velmi závažný a diskutovaný fenomén - veskrze negativně jej hodnotí J. Sádlo. Baroko zásadně přineslo první kompletní využití každého kouta krajiny a zároveň byly položeny základy pro budoucí "mýtus" o existenci české krajiny jako "krajiny barokní". J. Sádlo, jemuž vždy jde o krajinu samu a uvažuje o ní z její pozice, tvrdí, že my - lidstvo jsme jen její součásti. Mluví o krajině jako celku a nikoliv o krajině " jako...

The thesis focuses on landscape in the context of culture, or "cultural landscape" from the perspective of genius loci - "spirit of a place" - which on one hand consists of unique subjective feelings, yet also transcends subjectivity. At one level the atmosphere of a place is created by nature. However, at another level the presence of the human element is indispensable - "dead men" determine the overall spirit of each location. The overall spirit is thus an expression how landscapes appropriate us. (From this perspective the spirit of the place is not just a fleeting and purely subjective impression, but an expression of the fact that, in a manner of speaking, we are appropriated by the land ourselves.) This thesis discusses in fact two different points of view: the anthropological perspective (the subject produces nature, nature produces the subject) and the perspective of the landscape itself (landscape has its own quality - from nature's own point of view the Baroque period is a meaningless term). In order to study genius loci it is necessary to find some tools to help us describe it within the context of human history and culture.
