Zvládání pandemie Covid-19 u akademických pracovnic-matek

Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with coping with the COVID-19 pandemic among academic mothers. The aim of the thesis is to discover how female academics dealt with the global crisis, specifically in relation to the combination of personal and professional life. The thesis considers the criteria of academic excellence and examines whether coping with the pandemic differed between excellent and non-excellent academics. Additionally, the thesis studies academic work in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic in two distinct scientific fields; STEM and SSH, and simultaneously in two types of academic institutions; public universities and Czech Academy of Science. In order to answer the research objectives, a qualitative methodology, specifically semi-structured interviews, were used. Qualitative methodology enabled identify key factors that had an impact on the coping with the pandemic among academic mothers. The research method also allowed us to obtain information for comparing a predetermined category. The research revealed three dimensions that alongside contribute to the ability of female academics to deal with the pandemic. Diplomová práce se zabývá zvládáním pandemie COVID-19 u akademických pracovnic - matek. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak se akademičky vypořádávaly s globální krizí v souvislosti se skloubením osobního a profesního života. Práce zohledňuje kritéria akademické excelence, zkoumá, zda se zvládání pandemie lišilo u akademických pracovnic, jež dosahují kritérií akademické excelence, a těch, jež jich nedosahují. Navíc práce mapuje akademickou práci v době pandemie COVID-19 ve dvou odlišných vědních oblastech (STEM a SSH) a současně i ve dvou typech akademických institucí: VVŠ a AV ČR. Pro dosažení výzkumných cílů bylo využito kvalitativní metodologie, specificky polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, které umožnily identifikovat stěžejní faktory, jež měly vliv na zvládání pandemie u akademických pracovnic - matek. Metoda zároveň umožnila získat informace ke komparaci předem stanovených kategorií. Výzkumné šetření odhalilo celkem tři dimenze, které se společně podílejí na schopnosti akademiček vypořádat se s pandemickou situací. Jedná se o osobnostní, rodinou a profesní dimenzi, jež se navzájem ovlivňují a jsou spolu provázány. Akademická excelence a dosahování jejích kritérií nehrálo ve zvládání pandemie roli.
