Georganne Weller Ford a její přínos pro vývoj teorie tlumočení

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce mapuje dílo a přínos současné tlumočnice, badatelky a teoretičky tlumočení Georganny Wellerové Fordové. Zabývá se ústředními oblastmi její činnosti, a to soudním tlumočením a tlumočením indiánských jazyků. Představuje rovněž její výzkum zaměřený na rozlišné aspekty simultánního tlumočení, zahrnuje její biografii a dále informuje o badatelčiných pedagogických a tlumočnických projektech. Jedná se o teoretickou práci, jež navazuje na další diplomové práce o významných osobnostech světové translatologie.

This master's thesis provides an overview of the work and contribution of the contemporary Mexican interpreter, researcher and teacher Georganne Weller Ford. It focuses on the prominent areas of her work, namely legal interpreting, and indigenous language interpreting. It also includes a short biography of Georganne Weller Ford, presents her research on different aspects of simultaneous interpreting, and reports on her teaching and interpreting projects. This is a theoretical descriptive study, similar to other student works dedicated to important figures on the international translation studies scene.
